WESTFIELD, NJ — As Westfield residents begin planning their spring gardens and outdoor living spaces, local landscape architect Marc Nissim is bringing a new vision to a well-known neighborhood garden center.
Harmony Home and Garden Design Center in Westfield, long recognized as a neighborhood destination for plants and garden supplies, now features thoughtfully curated design displays to inspire any outdoor project. Customers can explore fountains, stone samples and outdoor lighting in person, making it easier to visualize and incorporate these elements into their own landscapes.
After recently acquiring the property, Nissim has reimagined the former garden center as more than just a retail space. Today, it serves as a place for inspiration, guidance and creativity, where visitors can ask questions and thoughtfully consider how they live in their outdoor environments. As a certified landscape architect, Marc also curates a unique selection of nontraditional perennials, native plants and other distinctive specimens.
“Having lived and worked in Westfield for over two decades, I understand how important it is for homeowners to see and feel plants and other materials before committing to a design,” Nissim said. “Now they can also speak with a design expert on site who can help guide them through the process and make sure everything works together.”
The layout also allows homeowners to consult directly with experienced professionals while exploring plants, hardscape materials and outdoor features. In addition to traditional gardening supplies and houseplants, the space now offers inspiration and expert guidance for residents looking to plan everything from small garden updates to complete outdoor living spaces.
Nissim said the design team can also help homeowners navigate the complexities of planning outdoor projects in New Jersey.
“Properties in New Jersey vary widely in size and layout, and it can be difficult for homeowners to visualize their dream backyard,” Nissim said. “Our team helps bring that vision to life.”
The updated space blends the traditional garden center experience with curated displays of outdoor materials, giving residents inspiration and access to professional expertise as they plan spring and summer landscaping projects.
With the warmer months approaching, Nissim hopes the space will provide both inspiration and practical resources for residents looking to enhance their outdoor living spaces.
